Why your packets don't take the scenic route.

A real mill doesn't truck Oregon timber down to California, have it milled, and truck it all the way back — that's just extra miles for no reason. We don't route your packets that way either.

Without local peering

Portland → San Jose, CA → Seattle (~1,400mi round trip, extra hops)

With NWAX peering (us)

Portland → NWAX → Seattle (handed off locally, stays in the Pacific Northwest)

We peer directly at the Northwest Access Exchange (NWAX) in Portland, so traffic to other Pacific Northwest networks stays local instead of taking the long way around through California — fewer hops, shorter path, lower latency for Oregon and Washington networks.
